If we were to prioritize visual aesthetics alone, it would be simple to standardize the waist dimensions across all patterns. However, forcing narrow dimensions on a design with a thin waist band causes excessive tightness, restricting blood flow and compressing nerves. To give an example, it would be as painful as a Size L customer attempting to wear a Size XXS, making it impossible to wear comfortably all day long.
